When it comes to prepping your skin for a wedding or other big event, you want to be in it for the long game, not sprinting off the bench at the last second. If time allows, it’s best to start planning skincare treatments and trying new products at least six months in advance.
To take out the guesswork, we’ve compiled a quick timeline to help you plan cosmetic treatments for your big event just right.
Six Months Before
If you plan on introducing new skincare treatment products like retinoids or hydroxy acids to your routine, start at least six months out from your wedding or event. It will take several weeks or even months to notice a difference on your skin after starting a new regimen, plus you want to make sure any side effects like dryness, redness or flaking are long gone before your big day.
If you’ve never had injectables before but plan to before your event, it’s a good idea to start now. That way, if you don’t love your results or are one of the rare people who experience a reaction to the product, you will have plenty of time to find a fix.
Four Months Before
If laser skin treatments are on your pre-event to-do list, start at least four months beforehand to give your skin plenty of time to heal and your results time to shine. Most people see the best results after a series of 3 to 6 BBL treatment sessions. Broadband light (BBL) treatments can address a range of skin problems, from acne to wrinkles and much more.
One Month Before
As you get down to the wire before your wedding or event, play it safe. Don’t start any new treatments or products now. Get your final filler or BOTOX® treatment at least a month in advance, and stick to your tried-and-true skincare routine from here on out.
