Dysport®
Are crow’s feet, forehead wrinkles and other signs of aging near your eyes keeping you from looking and feeling your best? Dysport® is an effective non-surgical solution to many common skin-related aging concerns, including lines and wrinkles near the eyes and on the forehead and brow. With little to no downtime expected after a Dysport treatment, you can expect to get right back to your regular routine after your appointment.
What Is Dysport?
Dysport is a type of injectable wrinkle treatment called a “neuromodulator.” Like BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport works by temporarily relaxing the muscle contractions in the targeted area that otherwise cause static lines and wrinkles to form.
While the immediate effects of Dysport will gradually fade away, some evidence shows that repeated injections of Dysport can be best to help slow or even prevent the formation of new static wrinkles in the future.

Am I a Candidate?
The best candidates for Dysport are in good overall health and wish to smooth away the appearance of lines, wrinkles and creases on the forehead, brow, near the eyes and other areas.
Dysport can be combined with other anti-aging treatments such as facial fillers or included in a non-surgical facelift for even more comprehensive results.
How Dysport Works
Dysport works by injecting a purified protein into the treatment area, causing the underlying facial muscles to quiet and relax. This is the best known way to inhibit the formation of dynamic wrinkles, which transform into static or permanent wrinkles over time.

Results
You may notice some results directly after your Dysport appointment, though it can take up to two weeks to see your best new look. Dysport folllow-up appointments will be scheduled around 10 to 14 days after your initial treatment to ensure that you are fully satisfied with your results.
Mild swelling, bruising and redness are common side effects after getting Dysport, but they should resolve on their own within a few hours or days after your appointment.
Neuromodulators like Dysport have temporary effects, usually lasting 3 to 6 months before another treatment session is needed to maintain the same results.

Dysport FAQ
How much does Dysport cost?
The average cost of a single Dysport treatment can vary from around $200 to $600 or more. Dysport is measured in units, and patients typically need anywhere from 30 to 100 units of Dysport, depending on the location and size of the treatment area(s).

What’s the difference between Dysport and BOTOX?
Dysport and BOTOX both use the same active ingredient — botulinum toxin A — to achieve similar results. Dysport contains smaller proteins than BOTOX, giving it a smaller concentration of the active ingredient. Thus, Dysport is generally more spreadable than BOTOX, making it the best choice for larger treatment areas.

What is the best age for Dysport?
While there is no right or wrong age to get Dysport, you may see the best long-term results by starting Dysport in your 20s or 30s rather than waiting until wrinkles have become more pronounced. However, many men and women in their 40s, 50s and beyond get Dysport for the first time later in life and experience amazing results.
———-
What should I do before Dysport to prepare?
You will be asked to avoid taking NSAIDs such as ibuprofen and naproxen, as well as other medications and supplements that can thin your blood 10 to 14 days before your Dysport appointment. These types of medications and supplements can worsen bruising. Taking arnica before getting Dysport, however, may help to minimize bruising.
It is also best to avoid drinking alcohol for 2 to 3 days before your Dysport appointment, as alcohol consumption can also contribute to bruising.
———-
Does Dysport hurt?
Most people find that Dysport is a relatively comfortable procedure. We use a small ice pack to “freeze” the treatment area, as well as use the smallest needle possible to ensure your comfort.
———-
How long will my Dysport treatment take?
A single Dysport treatment usually takes around 10 to 20 minutes.
———-
What should I avoid after Dysport for best results?
You will still need to avoid NSAIDs and other blood-thinning medications (unless otherwise instructed by your doctor) for a few days after getting Dysport to help minimize bruising. You will also be asked to avoid strenuous physical activity and vigorously rubbing the treated area for the first few hours after your appointment. For best results, avoid excessive alcohol consumption for at least the first 24 hours after Dysport.
———-
When will my Dysport results be noticeable?
Many people notice a visible improvement in the appearance of lines and wrinkles directly after their Dysport appointment. However, it can take up to 2 weeks to see your final Dysport results as the product “settles” into place and swelling and bruising begin to diminish.
———-
How long does Dysport last?
Injectable neuromodulators like Dysport generally last for 3 to 6 months. During that time, the effects of Dysport will gradually fade away, revealing your normal appearance. There is some evidence, however, that starting Dysport injections earlier in life may help to prevent the formation of deeper wrinkles in the future.
———-
How can I make Dysport last longer?
While there’s no way to determine exactly how long your Dysport results may last, practicing healthy lifestyle habits can help to keep your skin looking and feeling more youthful. Just some of the things you can do to optimize your skin’s health include wearing daily sunscreen, eating a healthy diet, getting enough sleep and maintaining a regular skincare regimen that’s customized for your skin.
