Dr. David L. Mobley, Medical Director

Dr. David L. Mobley is well-known for achieving dramatic surgical improvements while maintaining a natural appearance. Sarasota physicians have voted him one of Castle Connolly’s America’s Top Doctor in Plastic Surgery annually since 2007. Dr. Mobley is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, the American Board of Facial Plastic Surgery, and the American Board of Otolaryngology.

Dr. Mobley received his Bachelor of Science degree at Texas A&M University, and his M.D. degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. After completing his surgical internship at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, he moved to Richmond, Virginia, where he completed an ENT residency at the Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Mobley completed his plastic surgery residency in 1993 at L.S.U. Medical Center in New Orleans followed by one year of advanced cosmetic surgery fellowship training in Birmingham, Alabama. With over 25 years of experience, today Dr. Mobley focuses his practice on cosmetic surgery of the face and breast, including the latest noninvasive techniques.

Dr. Scott J. Engel, Medical Director

Dr. Scott J. Engel has a reputation for achieving beautiful, natural results. While regarded as a perfectionist, patients also appreciate his wan and compassionate care. He has been voted Top Doctor for Plastic Surgery in Castle Connolly’s America’s Top Doctors. He has also received the Patient’s Choice Award and Compassionate Doctor Award.

Dr. Engel is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College ofSurgeons (FACS). He earned his BA degree from Rutgers College in New Brunswick, New Jersey and his medical degree at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He then completed his Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery residency at Saint Louis University Hospital in Saint Louis Missouri. Dr. Engel completed an additional fellowship in Aesthetic Surgery at The Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. He received extensive training in all aspects of cosmetic surgery including facelifts, rhinoplasty, breast and body contouring and fat injections. During his training, Dr. Engel won both national and regional awards in clinical research at plastic surgery conferences throughout the country.

Dr. Engel is on the medical staff at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Sarasota Plastic Surgery Center and Cape Surgery Center. He holds an academic appointment as Adjunct Clinical Faculty in the Department of Plastic Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic and is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at Florida State University College of Medicine. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, the Florida Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Sarasota County Medical Society.

Dr. Brian M. Derby, Medical Director

Dr. Brian M. Derby is renowned for his “treat as family,” down-to-earth, and compassionate patient care. His beautiful, natural plastic surgical results consistently delight patients. Vitals.com has recognized him with Patient’s Choice and Compassionate Doctor awards. Dr. Derby is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He earned his medical degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine, and completed his Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery training at Southern Illinois University’s Institute for Plastic Surgery. Dr. Derby also completed two additional prestigious fellowships in cosmetic eyelid, face, breast and body surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, Florida Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the Sarasota County Medical Society.
