If you have scrolled past a “golden cocktail” post or heard someone mention a gold facial or infusion, you might have wondered whether the gold part is just for show. It’s not! AQUAGOLD® Fine Touch is a real skin treatment that uses a device tipped with tiny gold-coated needles, and it has become one of the most talked-about ways to get that smooth, dewy glow without downtime.
What Is a Gold Infusion?
AQUAGOLD, sometimes referred to as a “gold infusion” is a handheld microinjector with 20 ultra-fine, hollow needles that are thinner than a strand of hair. The needles are coated in gold because gold is gentle on skin and will not irritate or react the way other metals can. Those hollow needles deliver a completely customized blend of skin care ingredients just beneath the surface of your skin, rather than simply applying them on top. This can significantly enhance the penetration and absorption of active ingredients, which, in turn, can translate to improved results.
How Is AQUAGOLD Different From Microneedling?
Traditional microneedling uses solid needles to create tiny injuries that trigger collagen production, and any serums applied afterward mostly work from the outside in. AQUAGOLD, on the other hand, uses hollow needles, which can carry ingredients like hyaluronic acid, vitamins, peptides and even micro-doses of BOTOX® directly into the skin during the treatment itself.
So which one is right for you? If your main concern is deeper texture issues like acne scarring or longer-term collagen rebuilding, traditional microneedling is usually the better fit. If you are looking for a more immediate glow with little to no downtime, or you want a customized blend of ingredients delivered with precision, a gold infusion tends to be the better choice. Many of our Sarasota clients use both, spacing microneedling sessions further apart for collagen support while using AQUAGOLD in between for maintenance and glow.
What Can a Gold Infusion Treat?
The best thing about an AQUAGOLD or “gold infusion” treatment is that they are completely customizable to your skin’s unique needs and goals. Whether you are dealing with wrinkles, mild skin laxity, acne scars, enlarged pores or general loss of glow, your provider can tailor the cocktail to your needs so you see the best results.
AQUAGOLD can be used on the face, neck, décolletage and even the backs of the hands.
Does AQUAGOLD Actually Work?
For the right candidate, yes. Most people start noticing results within 2 to 3 weeks as the skin continues to respond over the following weeks. Redness and mild swelling right after treatment are normal and typically fade within hours to a couple of days. Results tend to last for 3 to 6 months, depending on what ingredients were used.
It is worth setting realistic expectations, though. A gold infusion is excellent for texture, tone and an overall refreshed look, but if you are hoping to soften deep wrinkles or restore significant lost volume, BOTOX or dermal fillers may get you closer to your goal. Many people combine treatments, using a gold infusion to maintain results between more targeted procedures.
