Thread Lift
Have you ever wished you could achieve facelift results without surgery? Thread lifts offer just that: a non-surgical solution to common signs of facial aging like lines, wrinkles and sagging skin without surgery or extensive downtime.
What Are Thread Lifts?
A thread lift is a minimally invasive facelift alternative that works by stimulating collagen production as well as providing temporary support with the use of dissolvable bi-directional cones to achieve a lifted, more youthful appearance without requiring surgery.
Thread lift results can last for up to 3 years and can be combined with other non-surgical facelift treatments to enhance and prolong your final outcome.

Areas of Treatment
Thread lift treatment is used to treat a variety of common aging concerns such as sagging skin in the mid-face area and lines, wrinkles and creases in the mid- and lower-face areas.
In some cases, a thread lift may also be used off-label to treat mild to moderate skin laxity and wrinkles in and near the neck area.
Am I a Candidate?
You could be a great candidate for non-surgical thread lift if you are bothered by the appearance of facial lines, wrinkles and skin laxity but don’t want or need a surgical procedure. The best candidates for a thread lift will be in good physical and mental health and will have realistic expectations.
While thread lifts can achieve remarkable anti-aging results without requiring incisions or downtime, they cannot achieve the same level of results as a surgical facelift would. However, some people opt for a thread lift before considering a facelift.
How Thread Lifts Work
Thread lifts use dissolvable threads with bi-directional cones and barbs to offer an instant lift to your skin, as well as stimulate the natural skin rejuvenation process for longer-term results.
Typically, 2 to 4 threads are placed on each side of your face near the jawline to create the lifting effect. Over the course of 4 to 6 months, those threads will gradually dissolve, while your skin simultaneously builds up collagen and other important proteins to hold itself into place without the threads. Thanks to this process, thread lift results can last up to 3 years before a maintenance treatment may be required.
At Sarasota Facial Aesthetics, we offer the most advanced thread lift products currently on the market. The Silhouette InstaLift® and NovaThread Lift provide some of the most dramatic thread lift results using polydioxanone, or PDO threads.
PDO threads are commonly used in surgical procedures because they are incredibly strong yet biodegradable. The best thread lift treatment for you will greatly depend on your unique needs and skin concerns. Our medical professionals have been extensively trained to identify which thread lift treatment works best for specific concerns.

Results
Thread lift results may be visible shortly after the procedure, though bruising, swelling and redness near the treated area may hide initial results until these side effects resolve in the next few days. You should continue to see gradual improvements in the tightness, smoothness and evenness of your skin over the next several weeks and months. Final thread lift results can last for 1 to 3 years.
You will be asked to avoid strenuous exercise and very vigorous chewing for the first few days after your thread lift appointment, but should otherwise be able to resume your normal activities.

Thread Lift FAQ
How much does thread lift treatment cost?
On average, thread lift treatment can cost anywhere from around $2,500 to $4,000, depending on your location, the skill and expertise of your provider, your specific needs and goals and other factors.
How long does a thread lift procedure take?
The average thread lift procedure takes around 45 minutes to complete. Downtime is typically very minimal, so you should be able to get back to your daily routine directly following your appointment.
Do thread lift results look natural?
Yes. A thread lift can achieve very natural-looking results, as it stimulates your body’s own collagen production, offering gradual results that develop from the inside out over time, creating a very seamless and natural-looking final outcome.
Do thread lifts hurt?
A thread lift is a relatively comfortable procedure for most people. A numbing cream will be applied prior to inserting the threads, so you shouldn’t feel pain or discomfort during the procedure. Some people say that they felt a slight pulling sensation while getting a thread lift.
Will there be a scar after getting a thread lift?
No. Scarring after a thread lift is not typically a concern as the procedure does not require any incisions.
How do I find a qualified thread lift provider near me?
Though minimally-invasive, thread lifts must be performed by a trained and experienced provider. To find a qualified thread lift provider near you, ask for referrals from friends and family members in your areas and do your own online research to verify medical credentials. To narrow your search further, view before and after thread lift photos, read online reviews and book a consultation with the top one or two picks in your area.
What is the best age for a thread lift?
The average age range for thread lift clients is between 35 and 55, though there is no single best age to get a thread lift. Consider the severity of facial wrinkles and skin laxity you would like to treat when deciding if a thread lift could be right for you. In some cases, injectables, laser treatments or other cosmetic treatments could be suitable for your goals. For more pronounced signs of aging, a surgical procedure may be more appropriate.
Is a thread lift better than fillers?
The best cosmetic treatment for you will highly depend on your individualized needs and goals. Thread lifts and fillers can both be very effective anti-aging treatments, though each has its own set of benefits and uses. Fillers are best used to temporarily smooth away lines and wrinkles near your nose and mouth, as well add volume to your cheeks and lips. Though they can have a mild lifting effect, fillers are generally not the best treatment for sagging skin.
A thread lift, on the other hand, is designed specifically to treat mild to moderate skin laxity, as well as facial lines, wrinkles and creases. If you are unsure about which anti-aging cosmetic treatment is best for you, schedule a consultation with one of our skincare experts to discuss your needs and goals in more detail.
What’s the recovery time after a thread lift?
Because they are minimally-invasive, thread lifts do not require extensive downtime or recovery time afterward. You can expect to be able to resume most of your normal daily activities directly after your thread lift appointment. However, your provider will likely suggest limiting strenuous physical activity, facial massages and sun exposure for around 1 to 2 weeks as your skin heals.
How long do thread lifts take to work?
You may notice an immediate improvement in your skin’s appearance after your thread lift appointment. However, it can take 1 to 2 months for more finalized results to be visible. You can expect your final results to last for 1 to 3 years.
How can I make my thread lift last longer?
The longevity of your thread lift results will depend on several factors, including your age, the elasticity of your skin and lifestyle habits. There are, however, a few things you can do to help prolong your thread lift results. These include following aftercare guidelines as closely as possible, wearing daily SPF, avoiding smoking, consistently following a professional-grade skincare regimen and eating well.
